The country is
suffering of famine, war, and all the crimes that go along with them
after collapse of the Central Government in 1991.
Somalia’s
strategic location attracted and had served the interests of the former
Soviet side by side and changed to Western alliance and served them very
well, although, it did not benefit from them at the end of the cold war,
the economy was in shambles, the country had been terribly fast
disintegrating, poverty, alienation, distrust, and violence had become
the order of the day. These conditions only served to worsen an already
bad situation.
Though signs of
impending disaster were there for all to see, very few NGOs had the
resources and interest to concern them with this poor, backward,
underdeveloped, and almost unimportant nation in the Horn of Africa.
The goal of hawala
companies was contend that the crisis is directly a precipitate to
overcome economic crises of the Somali social formation. They contend
that these poverty crises were resolved through connection between the
abroad Somalis to their relatives and friends in the country. The nature
of the crisis is based on political conflict and lack of central bank in
the country. |
